Ashley & Broomhill Community Council's September meeting with Sport Aberdeen:
After public consultation, Ruthrieston Sports Centre in Pitstruan Place has been renamed Great Western Sports Centre.
Ashley and Broomhill Community Council is closely involved in the discussions about improving the centre.
To ensure it meets the needs of local people, we would appreciate your feedback on how our local sports hub should be enhanced to support activities for all ages and abilities. Currently, the centre has refurbished tennis courts, a bowling green, some green space and a pavilion.
Have you suggestions for improving these spaces for the benefit of people in the area?
The bowling green is little used. Do you think this space could be improved?
Have you comments or suggestions about the pavilion?
What activities you would like to see there; and have you specific sports in mind?.
Your replies will be greatly appreciated and will help shape the future of Great Western Sports Centre.
The Community Council is also involved in work to identity funding that will enable the upgrades that the community wish to see. Feedback and the backing from local residents will support applications for the resource that is needed to make the improvements happen.
Please get involved and have your say; and please tell others so that we have a strong response from the public.
Thank you.
